Purpose
Establish a state-wide Licensed Practical Nurses Association to represent LPN's in Indiana
Affiliate with the National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Services (NAPNES)
Affiliate with the National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Services (NAPNES)
Advocacy
Promotion and expansion of the LPN's role as a well trained, properly licensed, safe and effective
member of the health care team.
Arrest the erosion of the LPN's role in hospital and clinical settings on local, state and national levels
Educate the public on the duties, responsibilities and scope of practice of the LPN
Establish professional credibility for Licensed Practical Nurses in Indiana
Representation
Give the LPN an equal representative voice in legislative issues involving health care and the
practice of nursing.
Familiarize legislators with the LPN's duties, responsibilities and scope of practice.
Education
Expand educational opportunities for LPN's to keep pace with expanding patient demographic
Promote the product (LPN's)
Retain and expand clinical training opportunities for LPN students
Develop CEU and credentialling opportunities for LPN's
Develop direct LPN to RN transition without repetition
